Questions and answers

How is Web Inclusion Lab different from an automated accessibility service?

Automated scanners catch roughly a third of accessibility problems, the mechanical ones like missing labels or low contrast. They cannot tell you that your menu traps keyboard focus, your form announces the wrong field names, or your "accessible" PDF reads in the wrong order. Every engagement here combines automated scanning with manual testing by a blind screen reader user. The scanner output is where we start, not where we stop.

Do you sell accessibility overlay widgets?

No, and we never will. Overlays inject scripts that claim to fix accessibility on the fly; in practice they often make sites harder to use with real assistive technology, and they have not protected buyers from legal claims. We fix the underlying site or document itself.

What does a project cost?

Rates are published on the pricing page: document reviews from $299, remediation by the page, forms by field count, website audits in a $2,500 to $7,500 band. You get a fixed written quote before any work is billed, and it does not move.

How fast is turnaround?

Quick-Scan Reviews take three days. Most single documents take a few business days depending on complexity. Forms and full audits are quoted with a timeline up front. A 48-hour rush option is available for document work at a 50 percent premium, and if we miss the rush deadline the premium comes off the invoice.

What do you mean by "verified"?

For documents: the file passes veraPDF and the Adobe Acrobat accessibility checker, and a blind tester has read and completed it end to end with a screen reader. For websites: every finding is reproduced on real assistive technology before it is written down, and fixed issues are re-tested. You receive the evidence in both cases.

How does the client portal work?

You submit a document or website address on the portal page and get a project number like WIL-XXXX-XXXX on the spot, plus a confirmation email. The project number and your email address together let you check a timestamped timeline of your project any time: received, in review, in remediation, verified, delivered. Finished files come back to you through the same page as downloads. No account or password is needed.

Is my document safe with you?

Files travel encrypted and live in private storage that only the lab can access. They are never used for anything except your project, and we delete them on request or per the retention schedule in the privacy policy. If your documents contain sensitive data, we are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement first.

My file is larger than 25 MB or I have a whole batch. What now?

Email support@webinclusionlab.com and we will arrange a transfer. Batches get a combined quote, and repeat rounds on forms we have already remediated are priced at 35 percent of the original.

Will your work make us immune to accessibility lawsuits?

No one can honestly promise that, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. What we provide is real conformance with WCAG 2.2 and PDF/UA, verified on actual assistive technology, plus the evidence trail that shows a court or regulator you did the work properly. That is the strongest position that exists.

Do you work with government and public-sector buyers?

Yes. We have remediated documents to Section 508 for a state transportation agency, and our audit deliverables include the VPAT/ACR documentation public-sector procurement asks for. ADA Title II deadlines for state and local governments are active now; if that is your situation, mention it and we will scope around your compliance date.
